CREACHING OUT oder sie niesen wenn es haarig ist – eine TrauerFEIER

The performance CREACHING OUT oder sie niesen wenn es haarig ist – eine TrauerFEIER by the artist collective [mostly] harmless questions the relationship of humans and their monsters.

While monsters are well-known to be scary, threatening and obscene, they often remain complete strangers to us: neither Frankensteins` monster nor Siegfrieds` dragon have got a name or a face. They embody the unknown.

Together with the audience, the performers Anna-Luise Binder and Mira-Alina Schmidt create a mourning ritual dedicated to all the monsters that remain unknown. Within the public sphere of the city, they do not get to stage their appearance. In a collective action, the monsters will be freed from clichés and negative attributions in order to slowly turn the sadness about their absence into a celebration of their skills and their uniqueness.

The performance was developed as part of the “deBühne” programme at Theaterhaus Hildesheim.
